Overcoming adversity

Bluebonnets_1 Reason #17 why I love central Texas: the emphasis on wildflowers. Add to that the fact that the state flower grows very well here (and is almost unique to the region) and I have yet another reason to live here forever. These beauties were growing out of a stone wall next to a major road, and yet they seem to be in for the long haul. It is actually slightly after bluebonnet season for this area - not to mention being too dry and hot now for them to still be blooming. Maybe next weekend I'll head out to the wildflower center for more fabulousness. :)

I Can't Wait

Lookie here. Apparently soon there will be something new to photograph here in Austin, and I just can't wait. Other towns have had their cows, pelicans, sheep, and whatnot -- we get guitars. :D

Good Times at Auction

IFootball69_4 love auctions. In fact, it is easy to see how some people find them addicting.
At any rate, I managed to secure the pictured football. If you click on it, you should be able to see the signatures, but in case you can't -- it is signed by Cotton Speyer and James Street, of the 1969 Championship University of Texas football team. Schwag, baybee. It was worth the price, though - especially as the auction benefited the school at OSL.
